Volvo Finally Comes Through
After a year of chronic starting problems and plenty of frustration, Volvo handed me the keys to a different S40 T5 today.
Across one year, the following parts we replaced:
- immobilizer
- ignition switch
- fuel pump
- fuel injectors
- #3 cylinder head
The fuel injectors actually stopped the starting trouble for a couple months, but they resurfaced with renewed vigor, not even slowing down after the cylinder head was replaced.
To rectify my unhappiness, Volvo of Nashville traded me a silver T5 to replace my black one. I lost the premium package and the premium audio, but gained the body kit, headlights, and convenience package. This was a straight up swap, leaving my existing loan (and payoff) intact. I had 22,000 miles on that old one, and this one has about 6,000.
I am happy, but the audio is considerably missed. Lets hope this problem does not occur again.
