Catching Up
Thursday, October 6, 2005 at 5:32PM I've been awfully quiet lately, so we'll catch up.
I've spent the last two days at a company retreat at Montgomery Bell State Park. I'm not a big meeting guy, but the trip got me away from the office, the job, and the norm for two days to focus on what I enjoy about my job and what I can do to improve the rough edges. Jackson was slated to be my roommate, but he decided to accept a new job so I got the room all to myself. I'm happy that Jackson has found a new opportunity, but I'll miss him. The positive side is that we'll probably do a lot more things outside the office to compensate. He told me to get more serious about golf.
The upcoming weekend is a Brenley weekend, and I'm super excited to spend the weekend with my awesome daughter. I missed her quite a lot over the last week, so it will be great to spend time with her. I'm hoping that Renee and Gage have the opportunity to visit as well. We'll see how that goes.
The weather seems to be getting cold, which I like. It spurs me to action if I'm being lacsadaisical. I also get a bit more impatient if something is out of my control. I've spent some time lately searching for an outlet that doesn't involve my computer and programming. Too much burns me out, so I've been running in the evenings. I miss running on a regular basis, and it gives me a way to expend some energy constructively and spend some time focusing. Good stuff.

Welcome back to the interweb. I wish I could tell you that it was really exciting while you were gone and that a bunch of neat stuff happened, but it was just the same ole shit.
