The Fringe Benefits Are Astounding
Friday, December 16, 2005 at 8:05AM Jaxn and I have an agreement that if either of us are ever 'outside' and need some type of information assistance, we will do our best to be available for consultation. For example, last night as he and his family approached Indianapolis I got a call to assist in the choice of taking I-65 or I-69 to get to Michigan. I called Jaxn a few weeks back for some help renting a movie. Why do we do this? Being a fellow hacker I'm confident in his Google-ing ability.
I know that if I need directions, a review from IMDB, the atomic weight of Rhodium (45), or the rules to a game I can rely on this type of person. Jaxn isn't the only resource like this that I have. There's also Mike and Kevin. I am completely confident that any question I can fathom can quickly and accurately be answered by any of these gentleman. Often times they don't even need Google, they just know.
Each of these guys also happen to be close friends. Aside from calling them if I need normal friend stuff (ride home, witness, whatever) they are amazing resources. Jaxn and I jokingly termed it a 'Google Friend', but I think those terms do little to address the scope of such people.

I consider you my "google friend"--if a son can be that. Remember when we called you for directions to "Joe's Crab Shack?" It is because most of the time you are sitting in front of the computer where you can look these things up. And a lot of the time you just know, too.
