Of Apples and Languages

Slashdot had an interesting story few days ago about Apple still clinging to Objective-C. After a bit of thinking I decided it was good that Apple were sticking to their guns concerning languages. The third-party apps are rich and vibrant. Why should they pull a Microsoft and start pushing their developers into all sorts of whiz-bang languages?


But then Miguel chimed in. On the other hand it would be cool to see Apple give first class support to something like Mono. Seeing the way that Java is treated on OS X clearly shows us that the only real choice for OS X development is Objective-C.


Mono continues to nag me...
