Free Protection

Google has been spreading themselves around like something that does a lot of spreading lately. Entering market after market and doing it all for free. I read a summary of their presentation from CES and was quite impressed by what they said. In addition to announcing new things and doing some back-patting, Google asked the verious attendees to create standards! Things like power adapters, IM, and bluetooth.

The real reason for this post, however, was to point out Google Pack to my friends and family that do not regularly follow this stuff. The part I am most impressed with is the 6 months of virus protection via Norton. My non-hacker friends always ask about protecting themselves and this is a quality way to do it. You can also deselect all of the other software and only install Norton. Killer.
