Vigor
Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at 10:38PM In a show of support for our US soccer team I am staying home from work on Thursday morning to enjoy the game against Ghana in all it's high definition glory. Since that's a morning that I have my daughter, she will join in the festivities and we will both drag our asses into our respective day jobs a bit late.
Despite an onerous beginning this week has turned out to be remarkably productive. A major project is finally coming to an end via lots of work and a soupçon of luck. As usual this merely frees me up for a larger project. Projects are never really done in this business, but seeing progress is always nice.
Today was one of this invigorating days. It was hot around 5ish when I joined Mike outside for a smoke break. Not that I smoke, it's just a welcome distraction to sit outside away from the machines of commerce that we slave at all day and discuss the day's dilemmas. Charge to payment mappings? Data layout decoupling? Ain't no thang.
It cooled off about 5 degrees in the time it took me to get home. The last few miles were comfortable with windows and sunroof deployed. 60mph of wind makes me miss the more powerful stereo in the old es-fawty.
