MacOS X Apps I Use

In honor of Kevin’s new Mac mini, I’ve compiled a list of apps that I use on my Powerbook.

  • BluePhone Elite - Uses Bluetooth to talk to your phone. You can see who’s calling, browse call history, and send/recieve SMS messages. It can also do neat things when you walk away or come back to the computer.
  • NetNewsWire - The best RSS aggregator I’ve found for OS X.
  • MarsEdit - Blog posting tool. I only got this because you can get a good deal on it when you buy NetNewsWire. It’s not essential, but I find it very convenient.
  • Transmit - I’ve not yet bought this, becuase I think the price is a little steep for an FTP client. Regardless, it’s the best FTP client I’ve used.
  • Azureus - Cross-platform BitTorrent client. Not specifically for OS X, but they have friendly packages. It’s the best client I’ve used.
  • Senuti - Get songs OFF your iPod.

Cyberduck is an adequate FTP client. Most importantly, it’s free.
