I’m an avid Penny Arcade reader. The combination of rich writing, snappy humor, and rampant cursing is the total package for me. Almost every time I talk to my brother I ask “Have you seen PA lately?” and proceed to explain Gabe and Tycho’s latest adventure.

The PA guys have a charity event every year called Child’s Play. The mission is to provide toys to children’s hospitals around the country (plus Canada and England). They’ve partnered with Amazon this year to create wish lists for each hospital. Simply visit the Child’s Play site, select the hospital from the map, and buy something. Cake.

I mention this for two reasons: (a) It’s a great idea and (b) The Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital is listed. I think it’s very cool that one of our local hospitals is participating.

So if you are looking for some philanthropic action this year and haven’t decided where to put your money, consider this.
