Cory Is Dead, Long Live Cory
I’m not the same person I used to be.
I’ve had so many changes in my life over the last two years that it hurts my head to try and remember them all. I’ve gotten to the point that I don’t even like talking about it. That’s certainly out of character for me.
Right. The most visible change has come about recently. It’s been a change in my musical tastes. I actually skipped downloading some moderately interesting rap tonight. Instead I’m jamming to What Can You Do by Soulive and discussing jazz with Jaxn. This is a big change for me. I’ve been beating the dead horse of rap for years. That’s not to say I haven’t had interests in other areas, but they were secondary. My current jazz favorites are arguably not that far off from hip-hop. I suppose the change isn’t that drastic.
I like the new Cory. I doubt too many of the people who are around me on a regular basis notice any difference, but I feel different. I think I need to cast off the few shackles that remain from that old husk and get comfortable in my new skin.
Another difference is how I use my computer at home. I used to feign for it. Now I almost loathe it. When I am using it, it’s more of a tool than a piece of me. I get my fill of the thing at the office during the day and at night I almost hate to be on it.
It’s late and I’m rambling. This post originally had more to it, but I think that the other pieces are better left unsaid. I feel very different lately. It’s been creeping up for a while and it is starting to settle in.
Sometimes once isn’t enough.

Hey man, change is good so don’t fight it. Embrace it.
Hey Cory, I wanted to thank you for participating in the blog battle, it was fun. Next time, I’ll make a rule that you can only rhyme and not comment on the rhymes. That way, I won’t have such a home court advantage and it can be more fair for you. Take care brother…

I’m definitely not fighting it. I’m enjoying my newfound tastes.
Ha! I’ll come with my A-game next time. I reread them to some friends later and was disappointed. I’ll not write them rhymes at work!
