I got myself two things for fathers day: a high-def tuner from Comcast and a new receiver. I wanted 3 component inputs and I couldn’t find another receiver with that feature for anywhere near that price. A few sets of cables later (2 optical and 1 more component) everything is all jacked in. My Harmony remote needs a bit more fine tuning but everything works well.

I’ve become quite the soccer fan over the World Cup. The US game yesterday was great to watch. I also watched all three games today. They are amazing in high def. I’m not really sure what comcast turned on for me, but I have more channels…

Today is bittersweet for a few reasons. One of them is the reminder that I don’t get to see my daughter as often as I would like. I can go get her pretty much any time. Her mother is very good about that. It’s the fact that I have to get her that makes it’s tough. This is idle annoyance. Anyone who is a part-time dad can feel me. But the sweet part comes from having such a beautiful little girl.
