Things I Learned This Week
- A ‘byte’ on a CD (or DVD, Laserdisc or SA-CD… even Blu-Ray) is actually 14 bits, not 8. You can read all about Eight-To-Fourteen Modulation and even view the lookup table.
- Those things you see floating around your field of vision when you stare at the sky actually have a name: floaters.
- The Bugatti Veyron is fast. Supposedly you could allow a McLaren F1 to get up to 120mph then start the Veyron from 0 and it would still get to 200mph first. It will also burn through it’s ~26 gal fuel tank in approximately 12 minutes when run at it’s electronically limited top speed of 253mph.

I once dated a girl who was faster than a Bugatti Veyron.
