Today NPR detailed education’s fight against the MPAA. It seems that colleges have been fighting to gain the ability to chop up and use footage from films to teach classes. This story put me on one of my soapboxes. There are very few issues which really get me fired up, and DRM is one of them.

But then came the story about the young man leaving his bachelor party with his friends only to gunned down in a hail of 50 bullets. This soundly knocked me from my soapbox and reminded me that the ‘problems’ we face pale in comparison to those of some other people.
