Let’s All Welcome Jackson…

to the esoteric brotherhood that is Apple Ownership. I am, of course, talking about geeks who are infatuated with the amazing capability that is Apple. I have no doubt that he will go through the expected phases: delight, frustration, hapiness. In my experience, there is an initial rush of amazement at what the amazing little computer can do. After the slick candy coating wears off you begin to realize how little you know about how the thing really works. After accepting it and spending some time in it’s clutches, you will move on to being a loyal, devoted follower. No PC will ever have quite the appeal it did before.

I owned a Powerbook for over two years, and was quite satisified with it. I sold it, however, because I was a bit upside down on the financing. I am happy I bailed myself out of a bad loan, but now I miss my Apple experience.

The problem is that I can’t commit because it seems Apple is very close to release an update.

It’s a horrible quandary.
